TEACHINGS OF TROUBLES
peace,Native American,american indian flute music,american indian customs

Be thankful for the troubles
in your life.
They provide the task of growing,
discovering and finding solutions.

If it were not for the obstacles,
the things that seemingly go wrong,
the difficult people to be dealt with,
and the problems and unpleasantries
of your day--
then life would be served by a paltry purpose,
with little, if any, challenges.

It takes resourcefulness, patience, tact,
courage and a fearless mind
to meet troubled situations.
That is why the precious gift of life
has been bestowed upon you.

If one would but look for more 'troubles'
and learn to handle them cheerfully as
learning opportunities rather than irritations;
confront them with a positive attitude
and good judgment,
then one's personal growth,
maturity in wisdom,
peace of mind would expand
at a surprising rate.
One would, then, know success and triumph
over troubles and tragedy.

Victory is not the end of the struggle,
nor its reward,
but rather the impervious process
of yearning aspiration
along the way that knows no defeat,
and one unwilling to yield to the agony of defeat.

For it is a fact that there are plenty
of life's rewards
waiting for those who do not fear to face
the troubles akin to them.

Seek not always the pearl of good alone,
for it is sometimes hidden,
embodied within the roughness
of the outer shell
of troubles . . .
